As Product Owner on Integration services in our Grid, you have a great deal of freedom and therefore a great deal of responsibility. You initiate and organise initiatives with the aim of ensuring that the Bank delivers maximum business value. You will manage the delivery of Enterprise Services on our Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and proxies on our External Gateway. The ESB is a software architectural pattern that supports data exchange between disparate applications. The ESB makes application integration easier by performing operations like data transformation, mediation and message routing. Applications pass relevant data to the ESB, and it converts and forwards the data to other applications that need it. It enables routing API calls and responses centrally, it puts an end to building point-to-point system connections and therefore enables loose coupling. You will determine the backlog of the delivery blocks and their prioritisation. You therefore also have responsibility for accepting or refusing work for your team. You weigh the interests of all relevant stakeholders in good time and in a clear and transparent way. You also liaise with Product Owners from other Blocks about interdependencies in the backlogs. In everything you do, the focus is on putting the client first and thus on optimising the business value, framed within the applicable legislation and regulations and the strategy of ABN AMRO. You will work in an agile environment. As a team you have the mentality of ‘you build it, you own it, you maintain it’. The Product Owner has sole responsibility for managing the Product Backlog.

You recognise the relationship/ dependencies between the different user stories and see any dependencies with other Grids and Blocks. You have the ability to make ABN AMRO more effective, more efficient and less complex. You achieve goals together with colleagues within and outside the Grids.
